Apple recently released a new operating system for their iPhone devices, iOS 4. This operating system is included in the recently released iPhone 4 and is also available as an update for older iPhone and iTouch devices. Apple devices running this new operating system have been identified as a root cause of synchronization issues experienced by some of our customers. Our team of network administrators have isolated the traffic from devices running iOS 4 to ensure that our customers using clients like Microsoft Outlook or OWA continue to experience the high level of email uptime you have come to expect of us. Customers with devices running iOS 4, however, may still experience interruptions. Apple have released an update, iOS 4.0.1, to address these issues. Additional details about this update can be found in the Apple support knowledgebase, article TS3398 (support.apple.com/kb/TS3398). Please note that updating to this release is required for all customers using an iOS 4 device. Failure to install this update may result in a degraded performance for iOS 4 devices including the ability to consistently connect to the Exchange Server and the ability to synchronize message and calendar items. All other servers and services are on line.
